Preparing a lifecycle campaign means connecting several pieces: who should receive it, what the message should say, and how the journey should work. Even with a clear brief, a CRM marketer still has to translate that plan into segment rules, email content, and automation logic.
Reteno Agent 0.4.0 brings these tasks into one conversation.
With the updated Reteno plugin, you can create and edit segments, emails, and workflows from Claude or OpenAI Codex. These core authoring capabilities are also available through Reteno Agent in Slack.
Define the audience, prepare the emails, and build the workflow in the environment where you already work.
Global research shows how quickly businesses are moving toward AI agents.
In McKinsey’s 2025 global survey, 88% of respondents said their organizations regularly used AI in at least one business function. 23% reported scaling AI agents in at least one function, while another 39% said their organizations were experimenting with them. These figures describe respondents’ organizations, rather than every business worldwide.

Microsoft’s 2025 Work Trend Index, drawing on a survey of 31,000 workers across 31 countries, found that 81% of leaders expected agents to become moderately or extensively integrated into their company’s AI strategy within the following 12–18 months.

For CRM teams, a practical question follows: how can AI help turn a campaign brief into the actual audience, messages, and automation needed to deliver it?
That is the focus of Reteno Agent 0.4.0.
An audience idea often starts as a sentence: users who started a trial but have not subscribed, customers who stopped returning, or contacts who match a particular behavior.
You can now ask Reteno Agent to create an audience from that description, update existing segment rules, and check how many contacts match.
For example:
“Create a segment of users who started a trial in the last seven days but have not purchased a subscription. Check how many contacts match.”
The request needs to match the data available in your Reteno account. Your event names, contact fields, and business definitions determine how the audience can be built.
For marketers, this makes it easier to move from an audience hypothesis to a segment they can inspect and refine. Follow-up requests stay in the same conversation:
“Narrow this audience to users whose trial ends within the next two days.”
The update also expands email authoring. Reteno Agent can create and edit emails, change their content and design, and prepare localized versions.
This supports several everyday tasks:
For example:
“Adapt our existing trial reminder email for this audience. Make the subscription benefit clearer and prepare French, German, and Spanish versions.”
You can use an existing email, a website, or a Figma design as a reference, providing material the agent can access. Treat the reference as a starting point for an email design, with email-specific layout requirements.

Version 0.4.0 also includes a sample Fiteno email library, giving teams another starting point for preparing messages.
The benefit is a shorter path between the campaign idea and an email that is ready for review, including its localized versions.
Once the audience and emails are prepared, the agent can build or update an automation workflow.
You can describe the customer journey you want, then work through its structure in the conversation.
For example:
“Build an inactive trial-conversion workflow using this segment and these emails. Send the first reminder, wait one day, and add a follow-up for users who still have not subscribed. Stop the journey when a subscription purchase is recorded.”
This is an illustrative request: the exact setup depends on the events, messages, and workflow options available in your account.
You can also ask the agent to adjust an existing journey as your strategy changes, connecting audience and message changes to the workflow that uses them.
The plugin’s authoring capabilities do not send, schedule, or activate campaigns. Review the prepared emails and workflow before launch.
The biggest change is how these capabilities work together.
A CRM marketer can start by defining an audience, refine it after checking the contact count, prepare the relevant emails, and ask the agent to connect them into a workflow.
For a subscription app, that might mean preparing a trial-conversion journey. For a fitness app, it might mean building a return-to-workout campaign. For an education platform, it might mean creating localized onboarding emails and connecting them to an existing journey.
These are examples of how teams could use the update, rather than measured customer results.
The marketer sets the goal, provides the business context, and reviews the output. The agent helps turn those decisions into entities in Reteno.
Customers using Claude or Codex need Reteno plugin version 0.4.0 or later for the new segment, email, and workflow authoring capabilities. A direct MCP connection alone does not include the required skills.
The difference is straightforward:
If you already use Reteno through a direct MCP connection, install the plugin. If you have an earlier plugin version, update it and check that the new skills are available.
The Reteno AI agent integration is currently available as a research preview, with capabilities continuing to evolve.
Choose an audience and a journey you already want to prepare. Give the agent your objective, the relevant account data, and any email references or localization guidelines.
Then work through the audience, emails, and workflow in one conversation.
